At a Glance

Jera's engagement with the large community bank going through a merger/acquisition showcased our exceptional expertise in compensation and analytics. The bank had established compensation programs on both sides of the merger, but the compensation teams were at maximum workload due to the numerous tasks involved in making the merger successful.

To support the compensation teams, Jera provided 10 hours a week of analytical assistance for various projects. Our team analyzed job descriptions on both sides of the merger to create a final job architecture for all employees, mapped current employee skills and experience to the new job architecture, and provided analysis on FLSA state threshold minimums across all states. The recommendations provided helped to approach exemption status of employees on the edges of the new thresholds.

Jera also implemented a combined bonus plan into the WorkDay Advanced Compensation system and managed the testing and implementation team for that plan. Additionally, we conducted an annual pay competitive analysis of both teams, with recommendations and cost analysis. Furthermore, we performed an annual pay equity analysis of the combined teams with recommendations and cost analysis.

One of the highlights of our engagement was the geographic differential study that we conducted, which provided recommendations and cost analysis. Our work showcased our ability to fill in the gaps of an organization and support the existing teams by leveraging our vast experience and skill set in various systems and analytic techniques.

Jera's exceptional analytical skills and experience played a significant role in the success of the merger/acquisition. The bank's compensation teams were able to focus on their other tasks while we assisted with the heavy lifting. Our engagement helped to streamline the compensation process and ensure that all employees were adequately compensated according to their skills and experience. Overall, the project was a success, and we look forward to helping other organizations achieve their goals in the future.
